Online games are pretty difficult to create. They require learning a whole new system of sending messages, receiving messages, etc. (you can probably tell by my amazingly technologically specific language that....I don't know how to do it either =p)
I'd suggest looking at 39dll (if it's not outdated...I haven't been keeping up) and reading some tutorials on it. Seems to be the "industry standard" AFAIK.
In addition, I hear GM's built-in mplay features are seriously depreciated, so I wouldn't recommend even bothering to learn them.

Do you see the "Unknown variable myid" ?
That's your problem. Reading a debugging log is important.
Make sure global.myid is actually filled with something, or initialised to 0

you should read Beej's socket programming guide. The book is free online unless you want to buy a printed version.
