    Competition 01: Simple Yet Effective

    ~Intro~
Finally, we have out first ever competition! As the first, it'll be simple and therefore it will have a short amount of time in which to be completed!

What is expected is simple, just as the title states.

You must create a small, one level game, with the purpose of obtaining a higher score each time it's played.

The method of obtaining said goal can be anything you desire.

    The instructions are simplified below.

    ~Instructions~

-Must have only one room/level (It may have a title/menu screen as well).
    -Objective is a high score.
    -Any method may be applied.
    -Any program/language may be used.
    -Preferably an .exe

    ~Rewards~

The winner of the competition gets a nice banner with a color of his/her choosing AND gets 100 reputation points!

    ~Extra Info~

I will be the only judge.
There will only be a first place winner.
If anything malicious is entered, the person whom entered it will be banned.

    Deadline: January 17th.

You are not allowed to use any resources that were not created by you. Only sounds and music may be gotten from the internet. (ONLY WITH PERMISSION). If you commit copyright infringement, you will be disqualified and the true artist will be notified.

    Begin! Very Happy

This seems like a lousy competition. Basically whoever has the best software/game development tools wins.

To have a "polished and most fun" game w/ C++ takes a looooooooooooooooooot longer than using a game making program like Game Maker Razz

Unless you have a really good game/graphics engine already, which I don't.

    *sigh*

Stop complaining. If there's a game that looks wonderful but sucks and a game that looks crappy but is amazing, which do you think I'll pick?

God, you have such a war on Game Maker. If you think that you have to use it to win, then use it and don't complain so damn much.

Doesn't game maker cost money? fine *searches thepiratebay*.

Do we even need graphics? Eh robotics is REALLY cutting down on my coding time. Plus this game will probably be my senior project model Razz

Hmm maybe I'll make something better than a rpg game. Possibly something useful? MATH STUFF!?!?!?!?!?

there is no such thing as a simple game with levels/rooms.

unless the game is .... hmm not a bad idea. lol i won't share the idea because it's so cool. ok i'll go with the competition because I have a really really awesome game in mind with no need for graphics or much code at all.

    O.o
I said "room" because Game Maker uses "rooms" instead of levels. That way, all of you would understand me. It can only have ONE level/room. The only exception would be the "room" in which you have your title.

So... Luke should be back soon... And people will come back. We can set up a GC post on YYG, and that'll get people migrating back soon enough. Then we can have the competitions and such.
