New GM Logo

I realize it's over a day late for this, but I don't know how many of you have actually seen this atrocity yet.


That's the new face of Game Maker. No more hammer. No more red. No more professionalism. No more seriousness.

Just more proof that something kooky is in the YYG blood right now. Eugh.

It makes me feel like I'm a 5 year old using a program that's so simple a monkey could do it. T.T

Mmhmm. Me too. It's only encouraging my transition to another language. In fact, I am from this point not starting any new projects. I have five or six going on right now that I'll finish, but then I'm off to college and I'll be learning some other language.

When they first announced that they wanted a new logo, I was thinking the result would be the product of some of the most superior graphic designers that GM had to offer. But in turn we got that simple piece of crap. The only quality that the new logo may possess from the stated requirements of the logo contest would be it's color scheme(fits in with yoyo games interface). Other than that, it's just an insult to everyone who entered the contest and everyone that uses Game Maker. :/

Yeah. They said they had over five hundred entries. This is the best they got? Wow.

I laughed so hard when I saw that... I now feel shame for saying I sometimes use gamemaker. If that is the best YYG has to come up with... I might just leave. Even I (the worst spriter in the world) could think of something more decent than that...

It's pretty bad. If they were trying to remind people that they are using an "Easy" software, they sure have done that. I'm embarrassed enough to accelerate my learning of other languages right now.

It's probably good to learn more than one coding language anyway, more possibilities.

Did you notice the pacman in the middle? I didn't untill someone else pointed it out.

Same here. I only noticed because someone showed it to me. It's very subtle and very nicely made.
