    School/Was that a tumbleweed...?

    Post by SoulRed12 on 5/10/2009, 8:45 pm

So what're the plans for these new boards? Just curious because we got a great new board...but nobody's really posting in it to fill it up. Also when does everyone get out of school? I assume at that point we'll all have more time to hang around.

I'm already done with school XD Just got done with my last final this Wednesday. Three months until I have to go back to that place...!

    Rawr!!!

I didn't know that the south hemisphere kept the same relative timetable. Thought they were just off in the winter ^_^ But I'm sorry you just started again lol.

BTW any progress with the website yet? =]

Well I'm in school right now. For me it ends in a few weeks.

This place will become more active, but I'm letting it take its time. It'll most likely grow during the summer. Most internet traffic comes from the UK and the US.

    True that.

Hopefully when school is over we gain more members.

When that happens though, realize I will be more strict on the rules. Right now I'm mostly relaxed though.

I've basically become the teacher for next years programming class (the teacher had me write out the curriculum) and we'll have a lot of new members when they all join.

Hopefully, I won't have to ban anyone. People at my school could be real assholes.

Same here. People at my school probably wouldn't know how to log onto the computer so we're safe.

That's awesome! Wish I could have taught a programming class in my highschool.

You going to teach Game Maker?

Game Maker would be a good language to start out with. Not much of a language, but nevertheless it'll be good for teaching basic skills like loops, statements, things like that.

Adam is also in college. XP
I'm sure it wouldn't be so easy for a teacher to allow you to do that in college.

Lol yeah, but it'd have been nice to do it while I was in h/s. ^_^

My programming teacher wasn't the most capable back then, unfortunately...

It's a lot like highschool, but more...split up. It's quite nice actually, it actually feels like you're in control of your education and less like everything's contained and controlled by a central administration. The work gets pretty difficult though. Also, if you thought a class of 40 students was "full", wait until you start taking classes with students numbering in the 100s...extremely hard to get a word in to the professor unless you stay longer after class. =/

    100s??? Wow! Sounds like fun!

I'm tired of school. At least, of junior high. High school is goin to be a much better experience, I hope.

My wacky July birthday made me stay back in preschool, or something like that.

Aw that sucks! Highschool is pretty cool. Plenty of freedom.

Soon though, it's college for me. >.>

Hey Soul, what college do you go to again?
